A work in progress. During our recent camping trip to Buck’s Pocket State Park (which was beautiful), I picked up a whittling project — this little coal-burned spoon, which I’ll give to Toby when it’s done enough. At age 1, he loves camping and spoons.

There were a lot of trees down in the park (presumably a result of the storms last April), and I don’t know my woods that well, so it’s hard to be sure what kind of tree this branch came from, but I think it’s yellow poplar (“tulip tree”).
